VanillaRoyal creates a world full of hostile sweetness and extinguished violence. She pairs the ordinary ('Vanilla') with the extraordinary ('Royal') In her creative process she tests material boundaries, confinement and self definition, soft against hard. The will to bind contradictions is reflected in her recurring attempts to tie the virtual with the real, to create a digital feeling in a hand-made piece. Her visual language provokes feelings of hope and despair, freedom and slavery, joy and pain. Contradictory as they may be, these emotions are united, wrapped with humor and optimism. VanillaRoyal started researching the connection between the individual and social media in 2007, in order to study the relationship between the artist and his/her online audience. Images she uploaded drew much attention particularly among Japanese and French audiences. Shortly after, animated segments were added and offers started to flow from outside the virtual world, including invitations to exhibit in Washington, Moscow, Berlin and Barcelona, New York & Israel.
